What will happen to my IVA?
Your IVA remains in place and will continue to run as before.
Freeman Jones Limited have taken over the running of your IVA from Harrington Brooks IVA, which was a trading style of One Advice Limited. Freeman Jones will now administer your IVA, using the trading style Harrington Brooks.
The Insolvency Practitioner who is the Supervisor of your IVA has moved across with your IVA to Freeman Jones.
Will there be any changes to my IVA?
No, your IVA is still in place, and you will continue to make the same payments into it as you do now.
Will my expected payment into the IVA or how any additional monies are calculated change?
The transfer to Freeman Jones won't impact your payment, or how additional monies are calculated.
I am struggling to make my IVA payments - can you help?
Yes of course. Just give us a call on 0161 672 8990 and we will review your Income and Expenditure with you and discuss your available options if you are struggling.
Will you continue to pay my creditors?
Yes, we will continue to distribute payments to your creditors as before in line with the agreed terms of your IVA.
How do I know my money is safe?
The Insolvency Practitioners at Freeman Jones are regulated by the Insolvency Practitioners Association, as are the Insolvency Practitioners that are joining us from Harrington Brooks IVA. As such they adhere to the same strict rules. This includes having client money bank accounts, separate to our own business accounts, which are ring fenced and regularly audited.
All Insolvency Practitioners are required to take out a bond (an insurance policy) for each case to ensure that funds that you have paid in are protected if, for any reason, this money had not been paid to creditors as it should.
Will I still get a regular review of my IVA?
Absolutely, yes. Freeman Jones will take over the regular income reviews. Please send your proof of income via email to [email protected] or to Harrington Brooks, Jackson House, Sibson Rd, Sale, Manchester, M33 7RR.
We will also complete an annual income and expenditure review with you to ensure that the IVA remains suitable and that your payments are at the correct level.
If your circumstances change, we will do a review with you at any time - just give us a call 0161 672 8990.
Will I still get my annual reports?
You will get an annual report from us once a year, showing the progress you are making with your IVA.
I am due to finish my IVA shortly, how will I be affected?
You won't be affected, the end of your IVA will be handled according to the terms of your arrangement. Freeman Jones will conduct a final review of your file to ensure everything has been dealt with as per the terms of your original proposal. Once this is complete a final report will be issued by Freeman Jones.
Will my creditors be notified?
Yes, we will let the creditors included in your IVA know about the change.
Will I start to receive creditor contact again?
There is no reason for you to start to receive contact from the creditors included in your IVA. You may receive a letter to confirm that they have been contacted by Freeman Jones.
If you do receive anything, please send it to us and we will deal with it for you. Just email a picture or scan to [email protected].
Have you been given all my details from Harrington Brooks IVA?
Yes, Harrington Brooks has passed on the details that they held about you to us, so we can continue to manage your IVA and provide you with the service that you need.
Should I call to introduce myself to you?
There's no need to call to introduce yourself - although please do get in touch if you have any concerns or questions. Over the next few weeks and months we will contact you to conduct a review with you in line with the original terms of your IVA.
Will you continue to use the Harrington Brooks reference numbers?
We will for now, but in due course, we will issue you with a new eight digit Freeman Jones reference number. You'll find your reference on letters and emails that you get from us.
I need additional support for health / personal reasons - can you help?
Yes of course. Just call 0161 672 8990 and we will do all we can to provide the support that you need.
How will you use my personal data?
Protecting your personal information is important to us. You can see Freeman Jones' Privacy Policy here. In the next few days we will also send you a guide to how we use your personal data.
How can I cancel my IVA?
Please contact us if you have any concerns about your IVA and we will be able to assist you with details about other options. If you still wish to cancel your IVA, you will need to make a formal request in writing to either [email protected] or to Harrington Brooks, Jackson House, Sibson Rd, Sale, Manchester, M33 7RR. We will then start the process of terminating your IVA and will send a failure report to you and your creditors. Please call us on 0161 672 8990 so that we can discuss what this will mean for your debts going forward.
How do I complain?
You can make a complaint in writing or by telephone. Please call 0161 672 8990 or write to Harrington Brooks, Jackson House, Sibson Rd, Sale, Manchester, M33 7RR. You can find Freeman Jones' full complaints procedure here.
